Description: Established in 1929 under the leadership of Deshapriya Jatindra Mohan Sengupta, the rowing club on Dhakuria Lake in Kolkata has a rich history. Maharani Indira Devi of Coochbehar and subsequent presidents, notably Sir Biren Mookerjee, played key roles in its development. The club saw significant events, including boat launching in 1933 and its first inter-club regatta in 1933. Mr. K.C. Mahindra and Mr. K.C. De contributed to nurturing talented oarsmen.
