Akshata Shete

Full Description: Akshata Shete, a national-level champion in rhythmic gymnastics from India, showcased her talent on various international platforms. She excelled at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships 2009 in Ise Mie, Japan, and also impressed at the FIG World Cup Event in Belarus, Minsk in May 2010. Leading the Indian team, she displayed her skills at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Moscow, Russia, in September 2010. Additionally, she represented India at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi. Throughout her career, she amassed an impressive collection of 47 golds, 40 silvers, and 30 bronze medals at the state and national levels. Notably, she retired in 2012 after leaving a mark in the gymnastics world. Akshata also achieved a Guinness World Record for the most hula hoop rotations with the leg in the arabesque position in one minute, set on 21 March 2011 during the Guinness World Records - Ab India Todega event in Mumbai. Recognizing her contributions, the Government of Maharashtra honored her with the "Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Puraskar" in March 2011. Since 2014, she has served as the Director for Rhythmic Gymnastics at RG BPCA Rhythmic Club in Mumbai. Moreover, she has lent her expertise as a judge at numerous national and international gymnastics competitions.
