Mamta Kharab

Full Description: Mamta Kharab, born on January 26, 1982, in Sonipat, Haryana, is a retired Indian field hockey player who represented the India women's national field hockey team. Additionally, she held the position of captain for the Indian women's hockey team. Notably, during the 2002 Commonwealth Games, she scored the decisive goal that clinched the Gold for India. Kharab also served as the inspiration for the character of Komal Chautala in the acclaimed 2007 Bollywood film, "Chak De India." Currently, she serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Haryana police department. Kharab has been honored with the Arjuna Award for her contributions to Indian field hockey.
