Full Description: Rahul Banerjee, born on December 15, 1986, is an Indian archer distinguished by his participation in the Olympics and his receipt of the Arjuna Award. His journey in archery commenced at the age of thirteen. With his sister, Dola Banerjee, also an accomplished Olympic archer, Rahul embarked on his international debut at the Youth World Championship in 2004, where he secured a team silver medal, marking India's inaugural world-level archery achievement. Subsequently, he attained numerous accolades, including multiple gold medals at the World Cups from 2008 to 2010 and an individual gold medal in the Asian Grand Prix during 2009–2010. His crowning moment came at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where he clinched the gold medal in the individual recurve event, becoming the first Indian archer to achieve such a feat at the CWG. Additionally, he secured a team bronze medal at the same event. Further enhancing his international profile, Banerjee secured a team bronze at the 2010 Asian Games. Throughout his illustrious career, Banerjee has represented India in over 50 international competitions, including the Olympics, Asian Games, World Championships, Asian Championships, World Cups, Asian Grand Prix, SAF Games, and Commonwealth Games. Notably, he was part of the Indian Archery team that attained the top world ranking in August 2010. At his peak, Banerjee achieved a world ranking of no. 6 in the Individual category in November 2008.
