Description: Tarundeep Rai made his international archery debut at the age of 19, participating in the Asian Archery Championship 2003 held in Yangon, Myanmar. In a historic achievement, Tarundeep Rai secured India's first individual silver medal in archery at the Asian Games during the 16th Asian Games on November 24, 2010, in Guangzhou, China. About: Tarundeep Rai, born on February 22, 1984 in Namchi, Sikkim, India, is an Indian archer backed by OGQ. Recognizing his sporting achievements, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri in 2021.

Achievements:

Tarundeep Rai has been recognized with prestigious awards for his outstanding contributions to archery. In 2005, he was honored with the Arjuna Award in acknowledgment of his remarkable achievements in the sport. Further adding to his accolades, the Government of India conferred upon him the Padma Shri in 2020, one of the highest civilian honors in the country.

In a testament to his dedication and excellence, in October 2023, Tarundeep Rai was granted the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy by ICFAI University in Sikkim. This honor was bestowed upon him in recognition of his exceptional endeavors to bring glory to India in the realm of archery on the global stage, as well as for serving as an inspiring figure from Sikkim.
