Akanksha Singh

Basketball

Born on September 7, 1989, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Akanksha Singh is an Indian basketball player who previously served as the captain of the India Women's National Basketball Team. A stalwart of the sport, she has been a part of the national team since 2004. Akanksha, along with her sisters Divya, Prashanti, and Pratima, renowned as the "fantastic four" of Indian women's basketball, are affectionately referred to as the "Singh Sisters".

About: Hailing from a family deeply rooted in basketball, Singh pursued her undergraduate studies at St. Stephen's College, Delhi. Her sisters, Divya, Prashanti, and Pratima, have all proudly represented the Indian National Women's Basketball Team. The eldest among them, Priyanka, currently serves as a basketball coach at the National Institute of Sports. Additionally, Divya has been involved with the University of Delaware basketball team. Outside basketball, their brother Vikrant Solanki excels as a football player in both the I-League and Santosh Trophy competitions.
