Ankushita Boro

About: Boro was born to Rakesh Kumar, a primary school teacher on probation, and Ranjita, who works with an NGO. She hails from Meghai Jarani, a village in the Sonitpur district of Assam. Her parents supported her in traveling 165 km for trials at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) center in Golaghat. She trained at the SAI center in Golaghat under the coaching of Trideep Bora. Boro's boxing journey began by accident when a friend invited her to compete in a local tournament at the age of 12. After being selected at SAI, she trained under coach Trideep Bora and later learned advanced techniques from Italian coach Raffael Bergamasco. As of November 2017, Boro was a student at Dakshin Junior College in Guwahati. She later married her longtime coach, Trideep Bora, in Tezpur.
