Shillong Lajong FC Academy

Full Description: Founded in 1983, the club aimed to elevate the standards of football in the region while identifying, training, and nurturing local talent. Translating to "our own" in the local Khasi language, Lajong holds a significant cultural significance. Known as "the Red Dragons," Shillong Lajong had a brief stint in the I-League until their relegation in 2017, subsequently competing in the Indian Super Cup in 2018 and advancing to the semi-finals. Recognized as the first club from the North East region of India to gain prominence nationwide, Shillong Lajong has played a pivotal role in elevating northeastern football. Notably, the club's academy prodigy Samuel Shadap signed his first professional contract after showcasing remarkable talent during the North East Super Series.
