Sonali received her academic education at Laxmi Narayan Sahu Mahavidyalaya in Jagatpur, Cuttack. She showcased her prowess by securing three gold medals at the 40th Senior & 24th Open Sprint National Rowing Championships, hosted at the Army Rowing Node in Pune, Maharashtra, from February 20 to 26, 2023. Additionally, she claimed one gold and one silver medal in the women's coxless-pair and coxed-eight team events respectively at the 36th National Games on October 2 and 3, 2022, at Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
