Full Description: Founded in 1929, The Marwari Club began as a common social platform for progressive individuals to exchange traditions and ideas. Initially operating from members' residences, it eventually settled at Rabindra Sarovar Lakes in 1935. Despite a hiatus during World War II, the club reorganized its rowing activities with diligence. Guided by prominent figures like Sir B D Goenka and illustrious founders, the club evolved, blending European inspiration with traditional ethos. Notably, it pioneered initiatives like enrolling women rowing members as early as 1937. Today, the club offers a range of activities from rowing to fitness and indoor sports, fostering a vibrant community spirit by the lakeside.
