Description: Harshada Garud, hailing from Maharashtra, India, made history as the first Indian to secure a gold medal in the International Weightlifting Federation's World Juniors Weightlifting Championships by winning gold in the 2022 Junior World Weightlifting Championships.
About: Born on November 8, 2003, in Vadgaon Maval near Pune, Maharashtra, Harshada Garud comes from a family of weightlifters. Her father, Sharad Garud, has also excelled in weightlifting, earning a silver medal at the state school games. Currently, Harshada is pursuing a B.A. degree at Savitribai Phule Pune University.
